All the changes made to Midgard realm

Midgard - Changelog


Vanilla [game_wow] | TBC [game_tbc] | WotLK [game_wotlk]

We'll try our best to consolidate all the changes made on the server here. Otherwise, Blizzlike and Vanilla content is the default setting for the realm. As you know, the server is running on version 3.3.5a as the core, since we are using the Individual Progression Mod, all WotLK catch-up mechanisms have been removed (no Heirlooms) and replaced with Vanilla content. Certain things may have been restored and/or removed, including spells, gear, vendors, XP, loot, items, NPCs, recipes, quests, classes, mounts, mobs, bosses & etc. Some changes will revert back to the original WotLK expansion once character reaches a certain level of progression, so each character will have their own progression from Vanilla to WotLK. For example,

  • Character had lower health pools from levels 1-60 compare to WotLK
  • Character damage and healing are slightly reduced from levels 1-60 compare to WotLK
  • After completing Vanilla content, those end-game gear will be nerfed, and player should replace it with TBC gear. The same will happen with WotLK gear. This forces players to upgrade their gear; otherwise, new expansion gears will be wasted.
  • Death Knight class is only available after reaching WotLK content
  • Original bosses behavior from Vanilla and TBC are restored
  • All original TBC Attunements are restored
  • Vanilla raid boss loot adjusted to patch v1.12
  • Restore Vanilla World boss, Lord Kazzak
  • Items have been restored to their original Vanilla and TBC versions
  • Riding requirements and costs have been restored to patch v1.12
  • Vanilla XP scaling has been restored
  • Spell mana costs have been restored to pre-3.3.x
  • Vanilla and TBC quests that were removed in later expansions are restored
  • Mob stats, spells, and Elite status are restored to Vanilla state
  • The Upper Blackrock Spire (UBRS) Attunement is restored
  • All the time-limited items have been restored
  • Items stack size are restored to their original number as in Vanilla, then TBC
  • Restored classes and races starting gear to their original sets in Vanilla/TBC
  • Restored certain class skill upgrade obtain through item drops instead of from trainer
  • Restored original TBC requirements and costs for flying mounts
  • Removed flying mount vendors added to level 60 areas
  • Restored original quests, levels, group quest status, XP reward, reputation reward, item required, and etc that got changed in Vanilla and TBC
  • Restored original Vanilla and TBC reputation from kill values and associated rank caps
  • Restored original Vanilla and TBC regen values for health and mana that got boosted in v3.3.x (Intended to remove the need for player to consume food while leveling)
  • Restored Undercity to pre-Wrathgate event
  • Restored reputation requirements to items that original required them
  • Restored the Vanilla progression of secondary skills to be taught through the original methods and with original requirements
  • Restored the unique locations for Artisan trainers (i.e Argent Dawn, Sons of Hodir)
  • Restored removed unique skinning items (i.e Shadowcat Hide)
  • Restored the original Vanilla 40-man Onyxia instance (10-man and 25-man instance will be also made available after reaching WotLK progression)
  • Restored the original Vanilla Naxxramas (40-man instance)
  • Restored pre-80 level spell mana costs to pre-3.3.x

Classes

Mage Image
  • Restored the Detect Magic spell
Rogue Image
  • Restored the Poisons skill, which requires crafting to obtain the spell
  • Restored multiple ranks of Stealth
Warlock Image
  • Restored Imp questline
Hunter Image
  • Restored attack speed bonus to quivers, and removed the 'normalized' haste bonus
Priest Image
  • Restored healing spells to scale linearly, just like in Vanilla. The same applies to TBC progression


Professions
  • Restored original Vanilla and TBC crafting recipes
  • Limit all crafting recipes to be available only when characters reach the relevant progression tiers
  • Restored Fishing behavior to pre-3.1
  • Mature Black Dragon Sinew now only drops from Onyxia
  • Restored all original profession recipe progression levels
  • Need to near Lexicon of Power to change Glyphs
  • Restored special crafting requirements
  • Restored all recipes to their original locations (incl mob, boss, and raid drops, unique vendor purchases & etc)
  • Restored progression between profession trainers for all professions

...And many more, you get the idea.



No Changes - Remain as in WotLK update

General
  • Quest markers/hints
  • Included new professions that got added in later expansions

WotLK Spells, Talents, and Class designs
  • We also believe with the stat adjustments in Vanilla, certain difficulty will be added for players, but this will be balanced out by WotLK talents and other quality-of-life improvements throughout the expansions.


Custom Changes (different from Vanilla)

Custom changes that made to the realm and may different from other WoW server, the idea is to create fun and challenging content that require player to have more attention in the game (there may have Hardcore mode in the future).

General
  • 20%-25% chance to obtain Random Stat Bonus Gear from loot, craft, and quest
  • Achievement now provide XP and scale with character level
  • Taxi/Flight path are synced across account between the same faction
  • Pets are synced across account
  • Gear durability -40% upon death
  • Before & after duel - HP/mana and all spell cooldowns (except spells that has 15 seconds or shorter cooldown) are reset
  • Underwater breath timer extended to 1 minute and 30 seconds (instead of 1 or 3mins in Vanilla/WotLK)
  • No Heirloom
  • Restored Vanilla stackable buff from scrolls
  • Removed the zeppelin added in v3.2.x between Orgimmar and Thunder Bluff
  • Restored The Bravery vessel to it is original route to Menethil Harbor instead of Stormwind Harbor that got reroute in WotLK content.
  • Quest loot can be obtain by all party members

Class and Race
  • Blood Elves and Draenei are available as starting races!
  • Death Knight hero class only unlocks after the server / character account reaches WotLK.
Hunter Image
  • QoL - Ammo pouches/quivers now stack to 400 instead of 200/1000 as in Vanilla/WotLK

Quest
  • Dungeon Set 2 (D2) made available early on
  • Players are required to complete certain questlines to enter relevant dungeons
  • Quest for The Hand of the Righteous is much easier to complete (100 turn-ins instead of 200)

Mob
  • Rare/Elite mob now give 2.5x more XP
  • Restored original Vanilla creatures model

Items
  • Tabard of Flame can be obtain from Ragnaros (3% drop rate)
  • Celestial Steed can be obtain from Gift of the Observer (1% drop rate)
  • Ragnaros have 50% chance to drop Ragnaros Core (instead of removed entirely from the loot in WotLK)
